What exactly is a search engine optimization specialist? Usually, a "specialist" is anyone one who really knows the specific "ins and outs," in great detail, of any particular business area or niche.
There may be many people and companies that consider themselves to be search engine optimization specialists, but are they really? Since search engine optimization can include as many different areas as there are species of animals, the term may not be the most accurate term for businesses looking for someone to handle their web promotion.
A search engine optimization specialist should be well equipped in the process of improving the visibility of a website or a web page in search engines.
Whether natural ("organic") or "algorithmic," the search engine optimization specialist will get a customer's website to the top of the search engines and get a marked increase in traffic.
That's the goal and reason for SEO anyway.
Is it possible to be a "specialist" in all the areas necessary, to wear that title accurately? It is, but only if a person has extensive practice of all areas of doing SEO.
There are social media specialists, brand specialists, local marketing specialists and GEO targeting specialists, but unless a company has several staff members doing certain tasks extremely well, I don't know if I'd call them specialists.
Although the concepts are simple, they require experience, persistence, and know-how.
A search engine optimization specialist must know many facets of the keys to getting high page rankings for their customers.
Even the "on page" optimization of a website is critical in ranking and traffic to a site.
Just the "keyword" alone has several concerns for optimizing correctly: · Keyword research · Keyword placement in the content · Bold the phrase once, italicize the phrase once, and underline the phrase once · Keyword tags (h1, h2, h3) Placing the keyword phrase in meta tags (the HTML code that appears at the beginning of your webpage) - specifically your page title and description.
Then they should be repeated in the keyword phrase twice in your description tag.
Your Meta tags should look similar to this: <title>[Keyword Phrase1] | [Keyword Phrase2]</title> <meta name="Keywords" content="seo, search engine optimization, website development, Google AdWords, online promotion, Internet marketing.
"> <meta name="Description" content="Increase your keyword [phrase 1] with this free ebook from MarketingScoop.
com.
This keyword [phrase 1] will give you keyword [phrase 2].
"> <meta name="ROBOTS" content="ALL"> The last tag, the Robots tag, lets the search engine know that it should be crawling your entire website.
There are other things you can do to improve the search-ability of your website like a sitemap and on-page linking, too detailed for this report but worthy of doing further online research.
That is the basic breakdown of a small part of what a search engine optimization specialist would be doing, but that is only one area of the process...
