There are actually 9.5 million citations in Google, since the term Web 2.0 has come into being. Web 2.0 is a new conventional medium and not a meaningless marketing buzzword, as many users take it as. This is like a gravitational core which has a certain median point and spreads in all directions equally. Therefore Web 2.0 is a set of principles and practices that tie together different mapping objects in the form of a solar system to demonstrate most of the sites at a variable distances from the core.

Web 2.0 is provided as a user friendly atmosphere wherein the user feels free to conduct the activities of his or her choice. The core competencies of Web 2.0 are of provision of services and not based on any single or exclusive software. This is comparatively cost-effective scalability as the extra effort of marketing here and there is not involved. There is a pattern of participation in the case of Web 2.0 as all the users are harnessing or imparting a definitive knowledge through the internet.

Web 2.0 is a vast field of knowledge and information and it gets even better with more and more usage. While it provides rich user experiences, there are platforms that let the user play also and enjoy the free time. Of course when it is such a vast field then it is vulnerable to hacking as well. With proper installation of anti-hacking mechanisms and software, probability of hacking is highly reduced.

Google is the standard bearer of Web2.0, while in case of Web 1.0; Netscape framed the old software paradigm. Google has played a superior role, as compared to the Netscape, because the web application is never sold as a package rather delivered as a service to the user. Customers are paying for only the services used by them. This entitles Google to convey and absorb all the relevant information to and from the user at very economical cost.

Another important feature of the model based Web 2.0 is that Google is not just a collection of software tools. Rather Google is a specialized database where the tools are rendered useless if there is absence of data on it. However, without the data, the software is also of no use. Google acts like a middleman or enabler between the user and online experience.
